The annual Undergraduate Symposium showcases undergraduate research, scholarly work, community-based projects, art, and creativity from all areas of study at UW–Madison. This year, more than 900 students participated. From May to August 2026, a selection of posters presented at the Undergraduate Symposium will be displayed at College Library, offering summer visitors an opportunity to explore examples of the remarkable work being done by UW–Madison undergraduates. Three undergraduate students working with faculty mentors from our department are among the 20 poster presenters chosen for the College Library display:
- Yuan Goa and advisors Jill Denson, PhD, MSW, assistant professor in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and director of the UW Prevention Research Center, and Harald Kliems, deputy director of the UW Prevention Research Center, for their poster, “Maternal Mortality and Criminal Justice Impact: Analyzing 2016-2023 Maternal Mortality Review Information Application (MMRIA) Data on Maternal Deaths in Wisconsin”
- Gabrielle Hon and advisors Megan Moreno, MD, MSEd, MPH, professor and chief (academic) in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine and vice chair of academic affairs for the Department of Pediatrics, and Kyle Palmberg, research specialist in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, for their poster, “A Content Analysis of Public ‘A Day in My Life’ TikTok Videos and Their Comments”
- Kayvan Sinha and advisor Neil Munjal, MD, MS, assistant professor, Divisions of Critical Care and Global Pediatrics, for their poster, “Development and Application of an Ensemble Approach to Causal Discovery in ICU Health Record Data”
