Social Media Statement

The University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health Department of Pediatrics (UW DOP) social media accounts (X and Instagram) are dedicated to communication from and about the Department of Pediatrics, its divisions, and its programs. They are produced and maintained by UW DOP staff and faculty in coordination with the Office of Strategic Communication at the UW School of Medicine and Public Health. Links to content or other internet sites should not be construed as an endorsement of the organizations, entities, views, or content contained therein. UW DOP is not responsible for the content of those external websites.

While UW DOP aims to review content posted to social media sites, it shall have the right to remove any content that is off-topic, a violation of intellectual property rights or privacy laws, commercial or promotional of organizations or programs not related to or affiliated with the school and its departments, or is otherwise illegal. It also shall have the right to remove people from its virtual meeting audiences if their conduct at virtual events is deemed to be harassing, threatening, profane, or obscene.

Users are fully responsible for the content they load on any UW DOP social media sites. By submitting content to any of UW DOP’s social media sites, users understand and acknowledge that this information is available to the public and that UW DOP may use this information for internal and external promotional purposes. Please note that other participants may use posted information beyond the control of UW DOP. Users who do not wish to have the information they have made available via these sites used, published, copied, and reprinted should not post on the social media sites.
