Our residents are a close group at work and outside of work. Some residents have a partner or a spouse, some are single. Several have kids (and they are cute kids!). We have a number of medical couples who have matched in Madison together—the program works with other departments to align schedules when possible. While we work hard, we also hang out frequently after work and on the weekends enjoying Madison and beyond.
We believe that balancing personal time with the rigors of residency training fosters personal and professional wellness, which is critical to a successful career in pediatrics.
Resident Wellness
We believe it is important for residents to establish meaningful relationships in order to function as a cohesive team when providing patient care. Wellness looks different for every resident, and we work together to find ways to support each other in a way that feels organic rather than forced.
