During Patient Safety Awareness Week, March 11–15, the UW Health Patient Safety leadership team honored providers who show exemplary leadership and go above and beyond to improve patient safety in their work areas. Three Department of Pediatrics faculty members were among the 59 UW Health providers who received Safety Leadership Awards: Awni Al-Subu, MD, associate professor, Division of Critical Care; Melissa Cercone, MD, associate professor, Division of Critical Care; and Nina Menda, MD, associate professor, Division of Neonatology and Newborn Nursery.
