Research to be presented at Glut1 Scientific Meeting

Ellen Connor, MD, professor, and Santhi Logel, MD, fellow, both in the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes, will be presenting posters at the Glut1 Deficiency Foundation’s inaugural Scientific Meeting later this month. The virtual conference, which will take place June 21 and 22, is an opportunity for researchers to share key areas of current research in Glut1 deficiency and identify critical gaps. Along with the patient’s family, Connor will be presenting a poster, titled “The journey of diazoxide,” during the conference’s Lightning Round Presentations. Logel will present “Old drug, new tricks: Diazoxide use with continuous glucose monitoring in the management of Glut1 deficiency syndrome”, a study which is co-authored by Connor, Neil Paloian, MD, assistant professor, Nephrology, and David Hsu, MD, PhD, professor of pediatric neurology in the Department of Neurology. Both poster abstracts can be viewed on the Glut1 Deficiency Foundation’s website.
