Graduate student’s research recognized by American Physiological Society

Katie Beverly, graduate research assistant in the Pattnaik Research Group, was selected for the American Physiological Society’s Research Recognition Award. Research Recognition Awards recognize outstanding research by graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who present a first-author abstract at the APS Annual Meeting. Beverly presented her abstract, titled “Side-chain polarity of amino acids within the Kir7.1 channel pore lining determine permeability and function,” during the 2021 Annual Meeting in April. As part of the award, Beverly received a $500 scholarship.
