Two members of the Department of Pediatrics are part of multidisciplinary research teams that received funding through Research Forward. This initiative aims to stimulate and support highly innovative and groundbreaking research at UW–Madison. Research Forward is supported by the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) and will provide funding for one to two years, depending on the needs and scope of the project. Peter Ferrazzano, MD, professor and chief, Division of Critical Care, is co-PI on the project “Real-time Assessment of Repetitive Head Impacts (RHI) in Youth and Collegiate Sports.” Claire O’Leary, PhD, assistant professor, Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology, is co-investigator on the project “Host-pathogen Interactions as a New Paradigm for Infectious Disease Therapy.”
