Pediatric Diabetes team attends T1D Exchange Collaborative

The Pediatric Diabetes team attended the annual Learning Sessions for the T1D Exchange QI Collaborative in Chicago on November 11. The conference is a multidisciplinary gathering of clinical and research team members from the more than 50 collaborative member centers with an aim of sharing learnings and of working collaboratively to improve care and outcomes for people living with diabetes. The UW Pediatric Diabetes team has been part of the QI Collaborative since 2021 with Elizabeth (Liz) Mann, MD, assistant professor, Division of Endocrinology, serving as the principal investigator. Twelve team members attended, including providers, diabetes educators, research team members, registered dieticians, and nurses. Kimberly Vidmar, MD, fellow in pediatric endocrinology, presented a poster on the team’s most recent quality improvement project: to increase insulin pump use in pediatric patients with type 1 diabetes.
