Members of Pattnaik Research Group awarded travel grants

Congratulations to three members of the Pattnaik Research Group who were awarded travel grants for upcoming conferences.  Allison Spillane, graduate research assistant, was selected for the Sarla P. Kothary Memorial Travel Grant to present her poster, “Preclinical Testing of HUB-101, a Potential Gene Therapy for LCA16,” at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO)’s annual meeting. Meha Kabra, post-doctoral research associate, also received an ARVO travel grant and will be presenting her poster, “CRISPR Base Editing as a potential therapeutic approach for Kir7.1-pathy.” The ARVO annual meeting will be held May 1-7, 2021.

Additionally, Katie Beverley, graduate research assistant, was awarded a travel grant to present her paper, “Side-Chain Polarity of Amino Acids within the Kir7.1 Channel Pore Lining Determine Permeability and Function” at the Experimental Biology annual meeting, which will be held virtually April 27-30, 2021.
