The American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine (AACPDM) Advocacy Committee is charged with informing and educating AACPDM members to be effective advocates for research, health care, and related issues important to both professionals and families of children with cerebral palsy and other developmental disabilities. In October 2024, Melissa Villegas, MD, assistant professor, Division of Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine, began a one-year term as AACPDM Advocacy Committee chair. At the same time, Lauren Fetsko, DO, assistant professor, Division of Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine, transitioned from her role as AACPDM Advocacy Committee chair to a one-year term as past chair.
