Kellie Collins receives Promotion of Doctoral Studies scholarship from Foundation for Physical Therapy Research

Kellie Collins, PT, DPT, research assistant in the Waisman Center Pediatric Neuromodulation Laboratory (PI Bernadette Gillick), was one of 27 physical therapists enrolled in academic doctoral programs to receive a Promotion of Doctoral Studies scholarship from the Foundation for Physical Therapy Research. Collins received the Viva J. Erickson Award in support of her project, “Neurobiologic Correlates of Early Motor Assessments After Perinatal Brain Injury: Corticospinal Microstructure and Connectivity in Infancy,” which brings together pediatric physical therapy, neuroscience, and early childhood development. This award is supported by the Viva J. Erickson Endowment Fund in recognition of Erickson’s contributions to polio rehabilitation and the physical therapy profession.
