
Hara Levy, MD, MMSc, professor, Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, was awarded a $166,680 grant for her project, “Improving Equity and Early Diagnosis in Wisconsin’s Newborn Screening System for Cystic Fibrosis (CF): Addressing Diagnostic Uncertainty and the Needs of Marginalized Populations,” from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The goal of this research is to create a more consistent, understandable, and equitable system that ensures that all children who screen positive for CF receive timely and informed care. Mei Baker, MD, FACMG, professor, Division of Genetics and Metabolism, is a co-investigator on this project. This two-year study began December 1, 2025, and will finish November 2027.
