Ande Jones joined the GPAM division in 2017, after serving as chief resident here in Madison. After a few years working as a general pediatrician to Madison’s east side at UW Health Union Corners Clinic, Ande was delighted to rejoin the residency education group in 2020 in becoming the Continuity Clinic Director. She is passionate about teaching medical students and residents in her clinic, and is looking forward to continuing to work on strengthening residents’ outpatient education experience. She will continue projects working on:
- Biannual reports on resident clinical activity, include data on number, age and gender of patients and types of visits, with next steps to focus on making continuity clinic experiences more robust, to include adequate diversity of exposures and learning, as well as improving continuity.
- Working with and mentoring residents participating in the Primary Care Pathway
- Residents receive family/patient feedback in spring and fall, which are incorporated into their semi-annual reviews.
Kristen Marten, DO
Primary care pathway co-director with Ande Jones
Kristen joined the GPAM division in 2020, after finishing a year as chief resident at UW-Madison. She works at the Junction Road Clinic as a general pediatrician and has a particular interest in prevention and treatment of pediatric obesity. Kristen enjoys teaching medical students and residents, particularly in the outpatient setting.
Danielle joined the GPAM division after serving as chief resident with the University of Wisconsin Pediatrics Residency Program. She is a general pediatrician with a particular interest in preventive medicine, including nutrition education and access to healthy foods, parenting support, and injury prevention. She is excited to maintain her connection with the UW Pediatrics Residency Program through her role as a CORE Mentor.
Carolyn joined the GPAM division in 2022 after finishing her residency at UW-Madison in 2021. She works at the 20 S. Park clinic as a general pediatrician, and has particular interests in care of formerly premature infants, integrating mental healthcare into primary care, and helping patients develop healthy lifestyles. Carolyn loves teaching medical students and residents in clinic, and is passionate about increasing learners’ comfort with and autonomy in primary care pediatrics. She is the co-director of the CPAAX (Community Pediatrics, Advocacy, and Ambulatory eXperience) rotations for first- and third-year pediatric residents. She is also a member of the CORE mentor group, which provides direct observation and personalized mentorship to residents.
Megan Yanny, MD
Residency core mentors
Megan joined GPAM with the Union Corners Clinic in 2020, after her training and chief year. She was thrilled to jump into working with medical students and residents in clinic as well as other educational settings. She is the co-rotation director of the longitudinal CPAAX (Community Pediatrics, Advocacy, and Ambulatory eXperience) rotations for residents, and an inaugural member of the residency CORE Mentor program. Megan splits her time with clinic, residency education involvement, and research – with a goal to focus on medical education and program improvement.
Emily Ruedinger joined the GPAM division in 2019. She was previously a medical student here, completed residency and fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital and the University of Minnesota, and was a faculty member at Seattle Children’s Hospital for a few years before returning to the University of Wisconsin. She is currently a pediatric residency Associate Program Director, a continuity clinic preceptor, and works with residents during their Adolescent Medicine rotation as well as during inpatient consults for patients with eating disorders and other adolescent specialty concerns. Emily leads the residency program’s PUBLISH pathway and Education for CHANGE. She has expertise in curriculum development and evaluation, particularly around provider bias, equity, and social justice. Emily enjoys working with students, residents, and fellows clinically, as well as on curriculum development projects and general career mentoring.
