Congratulations to Bruce Klein, MD, who was recently awarded a 2-year grant for $89,587 from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) for his project entitled, “A bat skin model to identify therapeutic approaches that enhance fungal recognition and augment innate immune response to white-nose syndrome.” The overall goal of this project is to create a bat skin model to elucidate how bat skin cells detect invasive fungi and develop therapeutic approaches that enhance fungal recognition and augment innate immune response to White-Nose Syndrome.
