Congratulations to Bruce Klein, MD, Subcontract Principal Investigator, and Marcel Wüethrich, PhD, Co-Investigator, on their new grant subaward through the University of Massachusetts, Worcester and supported by the National Institutes of Health/National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH/NIAID). This project, entitled “Identification of human T cell epitopes of pathogenic fungi,” is under the direction of University of Massachusetts overall PI, Stuart Levitz, MD. The subaward to the UW was funded in the amount of $570,554 over 5 years, with the goal to identify CD4+ T cell epitopes from antigens that human patients respond to during infection with pathogenic fungi including Blastomyces dermatitidis, Histoplasma capsulatum, Coccidioides posadasii, and Cryptococcus neoformans.
