Bikash Pattnaik, PhD, associate professor, Division of Neonatology and Newborn Nursery, was named the Retina Research Foundation Daniel M. Albert Chair. The professorship, provided by the McPherson Eye Research Institute, will support Pattnaik’s scholarly activities that address conditions affecting young people’s sight. The renewable three-year term began on July 1. Daniel M. Albert, MD, MS, founded the McPherson Eye Research Institute in 2002 to spur collaboration among vision researchers across UW–Madison. The Daniel M. Albert Chair was established in 2008 to honor his contributions to visual science.
