The American Cancer Society and UW Carbone Cancer Center have jointly awarded Austin Stuckert, MD, assistant professor, Division of Hematology, Oncology, Transplant, and Cellular Therapy, a $60,000 grant. The two-year pilot project, “CRISPR-generated GD2.TRAC.CART Cells for Treatment of High-Grade Central Nervous System Tumors,” began in April of this year. This trial will offer the first-in-human treatment with GD2.TRAC.CART cells administered systemically and locoregionally for adult and pediatric patients with difficult-to-treat brain tumors for which there are currently no cures.
