Austin Stuckert awarded joint grant from the American Cancer Society and UW Carbone Cancer Center

Dr. Austin Stuckert.The American Cancer Society and UW Carbone Cancer Center have jointly awarded Austin Stuckert, MD, assistant professor, Division of Hematology, Oncology, Transplant, and Cellular Therapy, a $60,000 grant. The two-year pilot project, “CRISPR-generated GD2.TRAC.CART Cells for Treatment of High-Grade Central Nervous System Tumors,” began in April of this year. This trial will offer the first-in-human treatment with GD2.TRAC.CART cells administered systemically and locoregionally for adult and pediatric patients with difficult-to-treat brain tumors for which there are currently no cures.
