Why pediatrics?
When a friend died of cancer at 20 years old, I wanted to go into a field that would allow me to help others like him, leading me to initially working in cytology. When I ultimately decided to change careers to medicine, I knew I wanted to continue into the field of pediatrics so that I could have the chance to help other children in honor of the memory of my friend.

I loved my pediatrics rotation during medical school. I especially love the joy and laughter that comes with working with kids all day. I also enjoy the endless opportunities for teaching children and their families. Lastly, the pediatricians at AFCH are the most kind and generous mentors, and they model exactly the type of doctor I hope to be someday.
