Ryan Coller, MD, MPH, assistant professor and division chief for Hospital Medicine, was recently awarded an R34 grant from the National Institutes of Health/National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NIH/NHLBI). His project, titled “RE-PACT: Respiratory exacerbation plans for action and care transitions for children with severe cerebral palsy” was awarded $726,759 in total project costs over the course of three years. Together with Carlos Lerner, MD, of the University of California–Los Angeles and Christopher Cushing, PhD, of the University of Kansas, the project will test a just-in-time, adaptive, caregiver coaching intervention to prevent respiratory illnesses for children with severe cerebral palsy.
