Laura Birkeland, MS, CGC, assistant professor, Division of Genetics and Metabolism, and program director, master of genetic counselor studies, has been selected for the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health’s (SMPH) Dean’s Teaching Awards. The awards were established in 1992 to honor outstanding contributions in student education in medical school programs, and they are SMPH’s only peer-selected teaching award. Birkeland received the award on May 28, Medical Education Day.
