Title: Strategies for Communicating with Vaccine Hesitant Parents
Session Overview: The overall goal of this session is to promote more effective and efficient communication about vaccines. Dr. O’Leary will present evidence regarding clinician conversation techniques for increasing vaccine acceptance, discuss some ideas and strategies for the vaccine conversation, and illustrate these strategies through a series of real-world case-based encounters.

Series Overview: Pediatric Grand Rounds is a weekly multidisciplinary and interprofessional conference designed to improve a participant’s ability to practice pediatric medicine, including patient care, conducting healthcare research, providing medical education, addressing public health, and implementing innovation.
Target Audience: MD/DO, RN, APRN, Residents, Fellows, and other Trainees.

- Identify state of the art, evidence-based practices for prevention, diagnosis and treatment in pediatric medicine
- Analyze issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice relevant to pediatric care
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other health care professionals, community members and families to advocate for the health care needs of children
- Describe new scientific advances and trends in pediatric medicine that may be translatable and impact future patient care
- Identify roles and responsibilities as part of a healthcare team that functions in value-driven, ethical environments
