Ellen Selkie, MD, MPH, assistant professor, Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, was a recent recipient of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research’s Fall Competition. An award in the amount of $57,545 will support her project, “Technology and Digital Media Use among Caregivers of Adolescents and Associations with Well-being.” The purpose of this project is to use survey and interview methodologies to understand attitudes and practices to understand attitudes and practices regarding the use of technology and digital media (TDM) among parents/caregivers of adolescents, and to correlate parent/caregiver TDM experiences with youth and parent/caregiver well-being. The project will begin on July 1, 2025, and continue through June 30, 2026.
