Dr. Dipesh Navsaria to Receive Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award

Medical students selected Dipesh Navsaria, MD, to receive the 2011 Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, sponsored by the Arnold P. Gold Foundation. This award honors a faculty member identified by students as best demonstrating the foundation’s ideals. Selection criteria include cultural sensitivity in working with patients and family members of diverse backgrounds; enthusiasm and skill in professional and personal interactions with students; commitment to reflection and objective self-evaluation of his/her skills; welcoming opportunities for teaching and mentoring students; and effective communication and listening skills. Navsaria will receive his award along with Anne Getzin, the graduating student who also is receiving the award, at the Student Award Ceremony on May 12.
