Daniel Jackson, MD, professor, Division of Allergy, Immunology, and Rheumatology, was selected for the prestigious WARF Named Professorship award and has chosen the name “Robert F. Lemanske, Jr. Professor of Pediatrics” for the chair. The award, which carries a $100,000 flexible research fund, honors faculty who have made major contributions to the advancement of knowledge, primarily through their research endeavors, but also because of their teaching and service activities. It is one of the highest honors the University of Wisconsin–Madison bestows. Jackson’s research program focuses on the inception, exacerbation, and treatment of childhood asthma and allergic disease with a long-term goal of disease modification and prevention. The award is provided by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research with funding from the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF).
