‘Cool Science’: Peter Ferrazzano wins campus image contest

A photo of white matter, with its predominant orientation of fibers colored to reveal pathways traversing the regions, has won University of Wisconsin­­–Madison’s 2021 Cool Science Image Contest. Peter Ferrazzano, MD, professor and Division Chief, Critical Care, along with Jose Guerrero, postdoctoral fellow, Medical Physics, and Andrew Alexander, professor, Medical Physics, created the image using a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. An exhibit featuring all the awardees is open to the public at the McPherson Eye Research Institute’s Mandelbaum and Albert Family Vision Gallery on the ninth floor of WIMR through December. Read more and view the other Cool Science winners
