Bikash Pattnaik, PhD, associate professor, Division of Neonatology and Newborn Nursery, was named a fellow of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO) and a member of the Silver Fellows Class of 2024. ARVO Fellows serve as role models and mentors for individuals pursuing careers in vision and ophthalmology research and help further ARVO’s vision “… to advance research worldwide into understanding the visual system and preventing, treating and curing its disorders.” Eligibility for the fellow designation is determined by a point system under which members are awarded points for participation in activities such as mentorship, education course and conference participation, committee service, journal reviewer service, and more.
