Ryan Coller receives a 2025 ICTR Faculty Mentorship Award

UW Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) Research Day 2025

The University of Wisconsin–Madison Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) announced the recipients of its 2025 UW ICTR Faculty Mentorship Award on September 10 at its ICTR Research Day. Ryan Coller, MD, MPH (left), associate professor and chief, Division of Hospital Medicine and Complex Care, was among the awardees. The award recognizes faculty who have contributed to the career and personal growth of clinical and translational research faculty through intentional, culturally responsive, and evidence-based mentorship practices. Coller was selected for his instrumental work in developing CREATE (Collaborative Research and Education Accelerating TEAM Empowerment) for faculty in his department to develop mentorship skills. In the nomination materials for this award, a faculty member wrote that Coller’s “approach to mentorship is the gold standard — grounded in evidence, defined by compassion, and unmatched in its long-term impact.” Another mentee wrote, “Dr. Coller is an ideal mentor. He is selfless, humble, brilliant, fully committed, and inspires me to reach my full potential.” Read more about the awardees.
