Anne Marsh, MD, associate professor, Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Bone Marrow Transplant, and Mei Baker, MD, professor, Division of Genetics and Metabolism, are part of a cohort of investigators recently awarded funding by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Their project, “Sickle Cell Data Collection Program in Wisconsin,” aims to provide comprehensive population-based data to inform decisions and policies related to sickle cell disease within funded state programs. Marsh and Baker will both serve as site co-investigators on the project. Moniba Nazeef, MD, assistant professor of hematology/oncology in the Department of Medicine, will serve as site Principal Investigator. The grant extends for five years, with $3,343 awarded for the first year.
