Dominik Nikolic, undergraduate researcher in the Levy Research Group in the Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, was awarded a $4,000 grant for the project, “Epigenetic and Metabolic Profiling of Neutrophils in Cystic Fibrosis (CF): Identifying Biomarkers of Infection Susceptibility,” from the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Under the mentorship of Hara Levy, MD, MMSc, professor, Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, Nikolic’s project will attempt to reveal novel biomarkers that can be measured from a simple blood sample to predict infection risk and guide earlier, targeted interventions. This three-month-long grant will begin June 1, 2026, and will continue through August 31, 2026.
