Dr. Cassandra Windau

Dr. Cassandra (Cass) Windau grew up in the small town of Mukwonago, Wisconsin. She completed her undergraduate degree in psychology here at UW–Madison. As an older sister, camp counselor, and eventually a behavior therapist for kiddos with autism, she’s always known she would end up working with kids and supporting their families in some capacity. Consequently, it wasn’t a huge surprise in medical school when she realized she was most passionate about and energized by her time spent in pediatrics. Windau is also passionate about promoting preventive health care and empowering families with the knowledge and resources they need to live the healthiest lives possible. With her experience as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist here in Madison, she also has a particular interest in supporting kids with disabilities and their families. She’s also interested in LGBTQIA+/gender affirming health care, adolescent medicine, and supporting people who are neurodiverse. Outside of medicine, Windau enjoys painting, going to the dog park with her golden retriever, family game nights, audiobooks, and trying new restaurants and cafes with her partner.
