Dr. Emily Satterlund

Dr. Emily Satterlund grew up in Middleton, Wisconsin, and attended UW–Madison where she majored in neurobiology. Even before choosing medicine, she always loved the creativity and joy that comes from working with kids. Being around them makes her happy, so she couldn’t imagine not working with them every day. She finds it especially rewarding to advocate for them and their families. Her interests within medicine include disability health services and accessibility, complex care coordination, narrative medicine, and building long-term relationships with families. Outside of the hospital, she loves creative hobbies like crocheting and knitting, quilting, writing, mosaic art, and baking. She is also a Packers and Brewers fan!

Why Madison?

“I grew up in a suburb of Madison and attended UW–Madison for my undergraduate degree, so I’ve always had close connections to the city. I love living in Madison. It’s the perfect size and has such a fun, active community. Being here also means I’m close to my family and support system, which was really important to me when choosing a residency program.”
