Professional Activities
Dr. Neil Munjal is assistant professor (CHS) in the Divisions of Critical Care and Global Pediatrics.
Munjal has an affiliate appointment in the Department of Medicine.
Clinical Interests
Munjal is a pediatric neurointensivist interested in acute and chronic brain injury care. He aims to preserve the brain health of ICU patients, including those who are admitted with a neurological diagnoses, such as traumatic brain injury, stroke, and status epilepticus, as well as those who acquire an unexpected brain injury during their ICU stay. In addition, Munjal provides high-quality long-term care for these patients through the Pediatric Brain Care Clinic.
Research Interests
Munjal’s research interests focus on developing machine learning techniques to predict neurological deterioration using both an electronic health record and high-resolution imaging. Using ICU data, Munjal’s research explores the causal underpinnings of patient physiology with an aim to eventually use these informatics techniques in areas with low resource utilization.
