Summer Moukalled, DO
Credentials: University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine
Position title: PGY-1 Resident
Dr. Summer Moukalled grew up in East Bridgewater, Massachusetts. She attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she received degrees in civic engagement and youth development as well as kinesiology. She chose pediatrics because first, kids are just the best, and second, by caring for them, pediatricians are caring for the futures of their communities and society as a whole. To Dr. Moukalled, that is incredibly important. She is extremely interested in infectious diseases and is seriously considering an ID fellowship. Outside of medicine, she loves to be outdoors: biking, hiking, climbing, birding, gardening, and more.
Why Madison?
“Not only had I heard firsthand about its fantastic reputation from family and its genuinely supportive environment from friends, but UW–Madison is also one of the only programs in the country with an integrated OMM curriculum built into its pediatrics residency. As a DO interested in incorporating OMM into clinical care, I was jazzed by the idea! I saw Sammi Tyler on the UW’s informational video talking about her experience, and I reached out on a whim. The rest is history!”
