Professional Activities

Dr. Sonya Kirmani is assistant professor (CHS) in the Division of Cardiology. She is medical director of the Pediatric Heart Failure, Ventricular Assist Device (VAD), and Transplant program. Additionally, Kirmani is an active member of the Advanced Cardiac Therapies Improving Outcomes Network (ACTION) VAD Network, and the Pediatric Heart Transplant Society. She is board-certified in pediatrics and pediatric cardiology. 

Clinical Interests

Kirmani is a pediatric cardiologist committed to providing high-quality care for children with cardiomyopathy, heart failure, VADs, or heart transplantation. Her clinical interests include optimizing care for this population in collaboration with the ACTION VAD Network and the Pediatric Heart Transplant Society.

Research Interests

Kirmani conducts clinical studies on pediatric cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and heart transplantation. She is involved in the Pediatric Cardiomyopathy Research group.
