Professional Activities
Dr. Paula Cody is associate professor (CHS) in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. She serves as medical director and section head of Adolescent Medicine in the American Family Children’s Hospital. Cody is passionate about educating clinical staff and people outside of health care about adolescent and young adult care. Nationally, she delivers talks on topics including eating disorders, sexual and reproductive health, risk– taking behaviors, and consent and confidentiality. In 2020, Cody was the recipient of a UW Health Physician Excellence Award.
Clinical Interests
Cody is a pediatrician with clinical interests in the sexual and reproductive health of adolescents and young adults with special health needs. Other focus areas of her clinical practice include the medical management of eating disorders and teens or young adults with risk–taking behaviors.
Research Interests
Cody’s research interests include medical management of eating disorders and the sexual and reproductive health of teenagers and young adults, as well as research on education addressing these topics.
