Professional Activities

Dr. Sabrina Butteris is professor (CHS) in the Division of Hospital Medicine and Complex Care and the Division of Global Pediatrics. She serves the department as vice chair of clinical affairs and leads the Division of Global Pediatrics as its chief. Butteris’ professional interests include developing local and international partnerships that span health systems and K-12 school environments to address challenges affecting children’s health. Her work with global health has focused on leadership, curriculum development and education in the U.S. and abroad. She co-founded and has served as the co-leader for the global health learning community of the Association of Pediatric Program Directors (APPD). She chaired the global health task force of the American Board of Pediatrics and served on the education committee for the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) section on global health. She is the co-creator of SUGAR PREP, a quite of free education products used to prepare medical providers to work in resource-limited settings.

Butteris is a pediatric hospitalist interested in global pediatrics.
