Professional Activities

Dr. Emily Backes is assistant professor (CHS) in the Division of Cardiology where she specializes in pediatric arrhythmia and pacing. She is a member of the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) and Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society (PACES).

Clinical Interests

Backes is a member of the Arrhythmia and Pacing (Electrophysiology) Team. Her specific clinical interests include cardiac ablation techniques, the management of inherited and non-inherited cardiac arrhythmias, and the management of patients with pacemakers and defibrillators.

Research Activities

Backes’ research interests center on mechanisms and outcomes of arrhythmia in pediatric patients.
