Congratulations to Simran Brar, an Undergraduate Research Assistant in Dr. De-Ann Pillers’ lab, who recently received two research awards. She was awarded a $1,000 grant-in-aid award from Sigma Xi, the Scientific Research Society, for her project on Best’s Disease. Simran also received $2,100 in funding from Fight for Sight’s 2011 Summer Student Fellowship Award for her project, “Understanding Best’s Disease mechanisms due to a cytoplasmic point mutation.”
