The Department of Pediatrics at Vanderbilt University Medical Center selected Sharon Bartosh, MD, professor and chief in the Division of Nephrology and interim chief in the Division of Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine, as its 2026 James C. Overall Lecturer. In May, Bartosh presented her talk, “What Inspires Me? Reflections from One Pediatrician’s Journey,” which was a reflection on the circumstances that shaped her clinical path, inspired her academic pursuits, and provided the catalyst for her personal and professional enrichment. James Carney Overall was a pioneer in pediatrics and allergy medicine who is remembered for a career of selfless commitment to the health of children and his community.
