Congratulations to Mei Baker, MD, FACMG, Wynne Mateffy Professor of Pediatrics and co-director of the Newborn Screening Laboratory at Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, who was recently awarded the Paster Family Foundation Innovation Award. The award, in the amount of $5,000, recognizes discoveries and projects from the University of Wisconsin medical campus that advance human health and the lives of patients and their families. Baker was selected for the award because of her significant, innovative and nationally recognized contributions to the research and implementation of newborn screening, which has helped babies and families in all 50 states.
