Mei Baker invited to serve on the Committee on Newborn Screening in the National Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine

Dr. Mei Baker

The National Academy of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine has invited Mei Baker, MD, professor in the Division of Genetics and Metabolism and director of the Newborn Screening Program at the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene, to serve as a member of its Committee on Newborn Screening: Current Landscape and Future Directions. Her appointment begins immediately and extends until September 29, 2025. The committee is charged with examining newborn screening (NBS) systems, processes, and research in the United States and providing short-term strategies for improving existing NBS programs, as well as a vision for NBS over the next five to 15 years.
