Title: Early Relational Health: Building for the Foundation for Lifelong Health and Wellbeing
Session Overview:
Early Relational Health (ERH) is the state of emotional well-being that grows from the positive emotional connections that babies and toddlers and their parents/caregivers experience in everyday moments of caregiving and nurturing. This foundation for lifelong health and well-being is centered around ERH with strong, positive and nurturing relationships essential for future flourishing. In 2023, Nurture Connection, an impact network, was established to partner with families and communities to advance ERH with a transforming child health system, a growing relational health workforce, and parent leadership.
This presentation will discuss early relational health, innovations in child health practice, the High Performing Medical Home, the national ERH Policy Agenda, early childhood system building, and the partnership and co-development with families who shape meaningful transformation.

Series Overview: Pediatric Grand Rounds is a weekly multidisciplinary and interprofessional conference designed to improve a participant’s ability to practice pediatric medicine, including patient care, conducting healthcare research, providing medical education, addressing public health, and implementing innovation.
Target Audience: MD/DO, RN, APRN, Residents, Fellows, and other Trainees.

- Identify state of the art, evidence-based practices for prevention, diagnosis and treatment in pediatric medicine
- Analyze issues of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice relevant to pediatric care
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with other health care professionals, community members and families to advocate for the health care needs of children
- Describe new scientific advances and trends in pediatric medicine that may be translatable and impact future patient care
- Identify roles and responsibilities as part of a healthcare team that functions in value-driven, ethical environments
