Elizabeth Cox, MD, PhD, professor, General Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, has joined the mentoring team for a newly funded K01 research career development award for Alejandra Ros Pilarz, PhD, assistant professor of social work at the University of Wisconsin Sandra Rosenbaum School of Social Work. The project, “Understanding trends in mothers’ work schedules: Implications for child health and development,” is funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and will describe trends in mothers’ work hours and schedules over the past 30 years. It will also examine changes in the associations between mothers’ work hours and schedules, time with children, and childcare arrangements over time, and estimate associations between mothers’ work schedules and children’s health and development.
