Danielle Scholze, MD, assistant professor, Developmental Pediatrics and Rehabilitation Medicine, was recently awarded a two-year $60,000 grant from the Autism Speaks and Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) to support the Waisman Center’s participation in the recently developed Autism Learning Health Network (ALHN).  With a focus on improving care and outcomes for children with autism spectrum disorder, ALHN expands the Autism Treatment Network (ATN) by combining the 12 ATN academic centers with additional academic and community autism centers to standardize data collection and utilize quality improvement strategies.  ALHN is working to identify and test evidence-based practices and develop standards of care for the evaluation and treatment of challenging behaviors associated with autism by addressing the conditions that frequently lead to these behaviors, including anxiety, ADHD, and irritability.
