Bruce Klein, Darin Wiesner awarded diversity supplement from NIH/NIAID

Bruce Klein, MD, professor and division chief of Infectious Diseases, and Darin Weisner, PhD, postdoctoral fellow, were awarded a research diversity supplement from the National Institutes of Health/National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIH/NIAID) in the amount of $123,638. The award is a supplement to Klein’s NIAID R01 parent award, titled “Lung epithelial cell regulation of immunity to inhaled fungi.” NIAID diversity supplements support students, postdocs, and faculty scientists who are members of an underrepresented group. This award will provide 16 months of support for Wiesner’s research.
