Bruce Klein and Marcel Wuethrich awarded NIH grant to study fungal antigen resources for development of vaccines and diagnostics

Bruce Klein, MD, professor and chief, Division of Infectious Diseases, will be a part of a three-site R24 study, “Fungal Antigen Resources for Development of Vaccines and Diagnostics,” funded by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases to identify human CD4+ T cell epitopes from 12 proteins conserved in the pathogenic fungus Blastomyces dermatitidis, Histoplasma capsulatum, and Coccidioides sp. Marcel Wuethrich, PhD, distinguished scientist III, Division of Infectious Diseases, is a co-investigator on this project. The award is expected to total $6,135,790. Funding for this grant began in July of this year and will continue through June 2030.
