Anne Marsh awarded DHS grant for newborn screening follow-up program

Dr. Anne Marsh.Anne Marsh, MD, associate professor, Division of Hematology, Oncology, Transplant, and Cellular Therapy, and director of the Pediatric Sickle Cell Clinic and Palliative Care Program at American Family Children’s Hospital (AFCH), was awarded a $50,000 grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. The project, “Hemoglobinopathies Newborn Screening Follow-up Program: A Partnership between the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health and the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene,” will identify patients with a confirmed diagnosis of a hemoglobin disorder, referred through positive newborn screening results. Patients with a confirmed diagnosis will receive ongoing clinical care at AFCH. This grant is for one year and will start in July 2026.
