Alaafia awards Anne Marsh Lifetime Award

On March 8, 2025, Anne Marsh, MD, associate professor, Division of Hematology, Oncology, Transplant, and Cellular Therapy, received a Lifetime Award from an organization called Alaafia. The award was given in recognition of exceptional dedication and unwavering commitment in sickle cell health care, research, and advocacy. Alaafia was founded by a collective of African immigrant women, based in Milwaukee, whose mission is to ensure that every African immigrant with sickle cell disease, as well as immigrant women who have been impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence, have access to resources, support, and empowerment tools within their communities.
