The UW Health Kids Pediatric Sedation Clinic at American Family Children’s Hospital is one of the longest-operating procedural pediatric sedation units in the country. It is staffed by Department of Pediatrics faculty members from the Division of Critical Care as well as the Division of Hospital Medicine and Complex Care. In 2024, it received the Society for Pediatric Sedation designation of Center of Excellence.

Pediatric Nitrous Oxide Administration Training Course
Twice a year, the sedation program hosts a Pediatric Nitrous Oxide Administration Training Course, led by course director Juan Boriosi, MD.

This two-day hands-on course, held in Madison, Wisconsin, is designed to increase health care providers’ knowledge of the pharmacology, clinical effects, and clinical applications of nitrous oxide in pediatric procedural sedation. Learn more and register for an upcoming session.
